Medical care isn't just received in hospital. That's why we also reimburse medical costs within a certain period before and after admission, provided that:
- the INAMI (Belgian National Institute for Illness-Disability Insurance) recognises the costs;
- the costs are directly associated with the cause for admission.
This is referred to outpatient care – medical care you receive that you don't always have to go to hospital for. This could be:
- medication
- medical fees (GP, specialist, etc.)
- paramedical fees (physiotherapist, orthopaedist, etc.);
- nursing and home care;
- prostheses and orthopaedic materials (glasses, contact lenses, crutches (rental), etc.).
- etc.
Please see your contract or the guarantees under your hospital plan for the exact conditions of reimbursement.
